چکیده

Drees and Godbole have proposed that, at the interaction point of an e+e− linear collider, one expects a high rate of hadron production by γγ collisions, providing an additional background to studies in e+e− annihilation. Using a simplified model of the γγ cross section with soft and jet-like components, we estimate the expected rate of these hadronic events for a variety of realistic machine designs. Associated production of Intermediate Higgs or Z - boson with tt̄ pair in γγ collision

Associated production of Intermediate Higgs or Z-boson with t ¯ t pair in γγ collision ABSTRACT Photon-photon linear colliders can be realized by laser back-scattering technique on the next generation linear e + e − colliders. Here the associated productions of an intermediate mass Higgs (IMH) or Z-boson with t ¯ t pair in γγ collisions are studied. Since IMH is very unlikely to decay into t ¯ ...

Quartic Gauge Boson Couplings

Quartic vertices provide a window into one of the most important problems in particle physics; the understanding of electroweak symmetry breaking. I survey the various processes that have been proposed to study quartic gauge boson couplings at future ee, eγ, γγ, e−e−, and pp colliders. For the lowest dimension operators that do not include photons, it appears that the LHC will provide the most ...

Photon collider at TESLA: parameters and interaction region issues

Photon colliders (γγ, γe) are based on backward Compton scattering of laser light off the high energy electrons of linear colliders. Recent study has shown that the γγ luminosity in the high energy peak can reach 0.3–0.5 Le+e− . Typical cross sections of interesting processes in γγ collisions are higher than those in eecollisions by about one order of magnitude, so the number of events in γγ co...

0 Introduction and recent developments in γγ , γ e colliders

High energy photon colliders (γγ, γe) based on backward Compton scattering of laser light is a very natural addition to ee linear colliders. In this report we consider mainly this option for the TESLA project. Recent study has shown that the horizontal emittance in the TESLA damping ring can be further decreased by a factor of four. In this case the γγ luminosity luminosity in the high energy p...

Photon-Photon and Photon-Hadron Interactions at Relativistic Heavy Ion Colliders

In central collisions at relativistic heavy ion colliders like the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider RHIC/Brookhaven and the Large Hadron Collider LHC (in its heavy ion mode) at CERN/Geneva, one aims at detecting a new form of hadronic matter — the Quark Gluon Plasma. We discuss here a complementary aspect of these collisions, the very peripheral ones. Due to coherence, there are strong electroma...
